What is with these guys?!

Today the chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children resigned due to alleged sexually explicit IMs with Congressional pages under age 18. Yep, that’s correct. Congressman Mark Foley (R-Florida) has been doing some electronic diddling with kids in the Congressional page program. Nice. His website touts his work for attacking internet child porn and good for him, he has “cosponsored legislation toughening the penalties levied at those who hurt children.”

But here’s the thing. Foley’s gay. He has spent his entire life in the closet and apparently, he’s still in the closet. The kids he’s been IMing include boys. When confronted, he’s denied being gay, even going so far as to say it’s “revolting and unforgivable” about the speculation of his sexuality. That says a lot about how he feels about himself. Revolting.

Why does this feel a bit similar to a certain Spokane mayor? I hate this shit.

Who's supporting these folks?

Who's supporting these folks, you ask? See Lelo's previous blog about where people see Jesus and the distortion of faith to serve their needs.

My rule these days is: the more they protest and act holier-than-thou, the more I distrust their intentions.

I've had to stop listening to the news again. If I didn't take a mental break, I'd be banging my head against a wall.

I think bemused has the right approach....it's out of control.

And my prob with the NJ ex-gov is that he's eliciting sympathy from his own party because he was in the closet. An affair is an affair and I don't care if it's straight or gay. Conversely, I think this happens because of the dogma forced down our throats. If people could be who they are without being harrassed and threatened, we wouldn't even need walk-in closets.

As to the child-molestation, how the hell does that even get started? Mr. Wonderful went to Catholic school and has his suspicions about a certain priest and one of the other kids. Nothing happened to Mr. W, thankfully, but what is up with these people? It's been going on for ages and the ones who allege they're doing everything to stop it are the ones doing it.

GAH!

I'd better stop now... ;)

thank you for saying the word 'gay' because the thing that i couldnt understand was that in all the articles on usatoday, cnn, and msnbc, all i heard about was how we was dealing with alcohol problem since resigning. i wasnt aware that people turned gay only when they drank. this saddens me.
