Where you WON'T find me when the heat hits the Portland area...

...and that's at any of the rivers in Clackamas County. What the heck is going on out there, anyway? Drunken brawls, rioting, massive people, heat, sunburns, mullets flying.....I can see it now and I have zero desire to be in the middle of that. Now comes this report of attempted murder, and dog fighting, and guns, and a tractor?! Nice. Now that sounds like the way to beat the heat. I'll stay far away...

P.S. Regarding the photo: if you do go, don't pass out. You might wake up in the middle of the Summer Redneck Games.

Well, you could always go out to McMinnville. Nothing (and I mean nothing) ever happens down in Mac.

We picked the hottest day of the year to get stuck in traffic on Tualatin-Sherwood Road, me stressing out so much about the car overheating that I'm sure The Wife™ was thinking of clobbering me, to go down and pay the taxes on my late mom-in-law's house.

And that still sounds more fun than going down to the Clackamas. At least the Yamhill County Assessor won't stagger up to you drunk and pop you one. And we did enjoy a divine tuna salad sandwich at the Hotel Oregon.

So I guess it wasn't that bad...

Am I the only one who notices and is more than a little bit concerned/bewildered by the large amount of young people who have lots of free time and yet are only happy when they are falling down drunk? You know what they say about idle hands... I seriously think some people don't have enough to do.

OK scratch my last comments about Portland because that pic looks a bit crazy.

I saw Summer Redneck Games in action at Atlanta Motorspeedway a few years ago. Oy! Not pretty.
