Oh, I'll have to grow some Aliums. I've always heard they were pretty, but I guess I never gave enough of a crap to find out. And I'm a big bulb person because, as much as I like flowers, I like to not put any effort into them so I can put all of it into veggies!

Aliums are pretty. I agree that they have a Suess-like quality. Last year we had accidental alium blossoms in the garden when we let some of our onions go to seed. Those sturdy stalks topped by huge flowering globes couldn't help but make me smile. I suppose they might be described as rather rustic flowers but they were fun. Your purple ornamental aliums have a much more planned appearance and are really lovely!

I'm glad to hear they multiply! I have a few in my garden and frankly, they surprise me each year when they show up - I forget they're there. Unfortunately their are still few enough in that spot that the dogs still tramp through it and the stalks get bent easily. Damn beagles.
