Aah, yet another perk of traveling for business: eastern time zone means I know who won American Idol! Yeah, I saw it. And you know, the finale show was actually really good: Mary J. Blige, Dionne Warwick and a purple-suited secret guest at the end? It actually kicked ass. I laughed, I cried (stop scoffing people! it's talent!) and in the end, I'm pleased with the outcome. Yeah!
Now back to work.

I know who won, too.
I cheated and went on the Internet.
And hello? I couldn't tell Chris Daughtry apart from the leader singer of Live. He was like, Mini Live.
Do I dare say, Chris Daughtry was better than Live?
Still not a fan of the Pickler.
Oh, man, but that was painful. I'm sorry, but after Tuesday night's anticlimactic (and kinda boring) performance finale, the Wednesday show was... well, a stinker. Burt Bacharach? Dionne Warwick? Please. Just because Taylor Hicks has grey hair doesn't mean he's 85 years old. I thought the whole thing was pretty terrible.
And when the "I've really gotta pee" kid who tried to be Clay Aiken was up there on stage... Even though everyone KNEW what was coming, it was still painful to watch.
Don't even get me started on the Brokenote Cowboys. Where was Chuck Barris and the gong? I kept waiting for the Unknown Comic to enter stage left. It was like they had to trot out a bunch of really crappy acts to make the finalists look good.
At least Kathrine McPheever finally found a dress in her size.
I only tuned in at the very end just to see who won. My favorite part was when they panned to David Hasslehoff who was crying... I couldn't stop laughing. Does that make me a bad person? :)
Lelo i've lurked on your blog for some time now, from RSG's and may I say you crack my shit up?!! :) You are someone who is probably a very entertaining friend and very loyal and loving. Keep on keepin' on. You made me smile today.
LeLo is a very entertaining, giving and loving friend. Yeah for LeLo!
I only saw the clip on the Today show as this American Idol is not a show that I frequent. Glad you're happy though!
By the way, did anyone notice McPheever's skin tight dresses and boobage spilling out everywhere? My friend and I were half appauled/half mocking her, wondering what her mother would think, when suddenly the camera panned to her mother... who was wearing such a low cut dress her under-boob cleavage was hanging out for all to see.
Guess it runs in the family.
SORRY MCPHEEVER FANS. She bugged me.
Greenink; I kindly disagree. I think the finale show was over the top great. Yes, it was everything you described, but the CAMP factor and rediculousness of American Idol is why I watch it. It's a horrid example of popular culture, but speckled with the wonder of young talent and hopefullness. This collision intrigues me.
Carrie; I can't believe I didn't see Hasselhoff crying!!!!! That is TOO GOOD. Will have to rewind this weekend and watch that for a few good ones. Maybe next season he'll be a theme guest and they'll all get critiqued by him. :)
Patti Cake: That is like the nicest thing ever! You totally made my day. I'm so happy when people delurk! Yeah!! Go Patti Cake!
RSG: Too sweet. Ditto to you.
Superinkygirl: I saw mom on the red carpet being interviewed beforehand and the dress did NOT look good on her. And, she looked very uncomfortable. Under-boob cleavage: I'm trying to figure out what that means and what you saw...will watch when I rewind for Hasselhoff!!!!!
