I go to the zoo to get their poop. Actually, it's called Zoo Doo, and it's composted elephant gold and it's now in our flower beds. Soon the earthworms will come up to the surface, grab some of that Zoo Doo, and take it back down into the soil, replenishing and feeding the garden with all kinds of good stuff. No, the Zoo Doo doesn't stink, but it does steam as it's shoveled out. Actually, it steamed all along Highway 26 as we drove away from the zoo. Hello Spring!
So, did you have to pay for the sh**&????? Nothing like having to pay for it.
Elephant manure?! That is one exotic flower bed!
I love it!
Elephant gold. Is that like Texas tea?
Lewis; Nope, Zoo Doo is free to Master Gardeners. :)
Purpletwinkie; It certainly isn't Texas toast!
Oh my god, that's awesome! I would be tempted to go through the master gardener trainings just for that. Only I don't think there is a zoo in my town. I will just have to settle for horse poo.
Oooh. This is definitely reason to take the training! I can't wait until we have our permanent garden.
I can't wait to see what your garden will look like this summer. I predict amazing results!
Wow -- the Master Gardeners don't have elephant dung down here in Eugene. I always knew PDX was exotic! ;) Your blog has shaped up beautifully, by the way. Really lovely photos.
