...when all of the gardening crap shows up in the stores. See my little friend here?
He's such a copy cat:
I recently saw bareroot hybrid tea roses and a peach tree for sale in a local bargain store. May the force be with the poor soul who tries to grow those here in Portland without using chemicals. Ugh. That's a set-up for failure for a new gardener.
That's my rant for the week. Have a great weekend! I hope to finally prune my heirloom roses. And keep up with that dreaded popweed, also known as bittercress, also known as Imma-gonna-eat-it-in-a-salad this weekend and report back!
OOH! Picture please, of the bittercress popweed thingy so I can identify it in my yard, and do same. last year I had my first dandelion salad....delish.
It's nice to finally have a name to put with that little bastard of a weed. They took over about two years ago, and I didn't see them until they were are the popping stage. It was a horrible realization of what I had overlooked!
I was diligent all of last year and am still getting some, but not as many. I basically have to weed from January-October to stay on top of them. :(
You know what they say about hybrid tea roses: "blackspot on a stick."
I'm late to the party, but (1) yes, eat it! and (2) I am dying with how cute that raincoat is.
