Feral Crocus

Feral Crocus 1
It's crocus-gone-wild. And thus I know it's springtime. When this vacant lot in North Portland sprouts a sea of purple, the feral crocus are in full bloom. Some have jumped the lot and shown up across the street. I can only wonder how many years they've lived here. Spring forward, feral crocus, and thanks for the welcome wave to spring.

I can only dream of day that my crocus become feral. After five years they're not too bad though. Perhaps when I'm 80?

Beautiful photos! Mine are just coming up in spots. I wish I had a whole yard of them!
