I saw royalty today

San Francisco twins

Mary and Vivian Brown, the famous San Francisco twins, and I walked together around Union Square this evening. When I first saw them from behind, I knew we were approaching something very, very special. Two older ladies, dressed up amazingly glorious, in furs and hats and exactly alike, walked arm in arm. Their hats even had netting, and their makeup was HOT.

Did you know they have spent their entire lives together, except for a few weeks when they once took separate vacations to see what it would be like to be apart? They have dressed alike their entire lives.

I've seen royalty, people! Royalty!

If Barbie had a twin (Farbie, Larbie, Narbie, or Sparbie) and if they had aged the way real people do, I would expect them to look just like the SF Twins!

Ok, so... while you were walking with them, did you happen to ask why they were wearing furs in August (even in SF)? I mean, it's the FIRST thing that came to my mind.

I'm glad you touched Royalty though. Kudos. After meeting me, it's a tough act to follow.

WHAT?!?! You're in my area and you didn't tell me? Well actually I live 55 miles east of San Fran, but still!?!?!

Moto and I would have driven out to see you ;-)

OMG they're still alive?! I haven't seen them in nearly 17 years. They were old then so I thought they'd be dead by now. That is too cool!

Oh... and for Purple Twinkie...as Mark Twain once said "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco."

Yes! I saw them too! It was on the way from Texas to Portland, driving up the coast. We had just come from a play - A View from a Bridge (I highly recommend it, amazing dialogue and right after Arthur Miller had died, an amazing time to see it) and I saw them. They were wearing green and yellow and fur and amazing heels to be walking down such a steep hill. We were headed the other direction but walked the other way just to see them, and then walk with them.

It's gals like these who make the world go round.

OH way cool!! Did you get to talk to them any? What are they like?
My grandfather loved them.

I'm amazed they can tolerate those coats.

It's cool that they're so close.

Wow that is exactly the type of old lady I aspire to be. And I will smell of lilacs and carry a silver walking cane to poke people with who displease me.
