I saw Brokeback Mountain and it’s left me speechless

Or for a blog, is that typeless? We saw Brokeback Mountain last night, and it has left me unable to talk about it, and somewhat fragile in my emotions*. I know that sounds weird, but movies can do that to me. I’ll blog about it later this week, but in the meantime, read the words of others and look at the pretty pictures . It opens here in Portland this Friday: it’s powerful, groundbreaking and absolutely beautiful.

*This is not a bad thing: it is probably one of my most favorite movies ever.

Wow, I'm really looking forward to your take on the movie. I've been reading these interviews with Jake G (my boyfriend) and Heath Ledger that indicate they did not believe their characters were gay, just 2 men who found true love in each other. Hmmm. I don't know whether to be miffed or pleased by those assertions. Guess I need to judge for myself by giving the film a chance.
By the way, Irreversible is the film that left me, not only unable to speak or write about it for weeks, but also kind of traumatized me and still bothers me on a fundamental level. It's difficult for me to say it was a good movie because the subject matter was so... disturbing. And I can't really recommend it unless one knows, going into it, that it's going to be extremely hard to watch.
ok, I'm blabbing now. I just don't want to work...

Oh Lelo, I can't wait to see the movie. I will definitely go on Friday when it opens. Can't wait to discuss it with you :)

Greetings from Mayberry! I will not get a chance to see this film unless I make the trek to PDX, or if Medford plays it.
SOO very jealous right now. I read the short story and lost my shot, so I can imagine how I'll be if/when i actually see the film.
